The problem is that now the most conservative Catholic groups in the Church, especially the United States, want to blame Pope Francis for the cover-up and the sexual abuses, forgetting that it was when they governed the church that that most horrendous cases of sexual abuse took place. Also when the conservatives ran the church they protected and defended men like Marcel Maciel. These are the same religious extreme right that helped elect Donald Trump. They have no morals. So the ambassador knew all this time and now speaks out but tries to pin the Yes I am still watching football no I don’t plan on doing anything else today shirt blame on the Pope. Why didn’t the ambassador speak out years ago. I don't think the Pope should resign but he does need to take a stand and do something to put the pedophile in jail.
